This is a one of a kind, original art doll of Amaterasu who is not only from Japanese mythology but was also the main character in a game called Okami.
Head and paws are made from lightweight cast resin that has been hand painted. The body is soft faux fur with no armature, stuffed with soft polyfill. Ammy even has her sacred mirror that she uses as a weapon in the game... yes it has a real mirror on the other side! Dyed wool represents the flames that appear around the mirror. Wool accents on her elbows and shoulder are my interpretation of her design in the game.
Ammy's necklace is made from a metal leaf pendant, resin, wool leaves, African amber chunks ( to represent her as a sun deity) , carved Nepal skull beads ( this represents the natural cycle of creation and destruction) and various other stone beads.
12" ( 30.5cm) from ear to toe.
A lot of work went into this one! Okami is one of my favorite games so i wanted to do it some justice. Hope you like it!
